Has helped kill and cap more than 400 onshore and offshore blowouts and fires worldwide, including major operations in Kuwait, the United States, Africa, Canada, India, Indonesia, Oman, Trinidad, Italy, and France. Expertise spans relief well operations, subsea well intervention, BOP capping stack installation, damaged wellhead recovery, complex well kill operations, hot tap and freeze operations, and snubbing support. Member of IADC and AADE.

Well Control & Critical Well Operations. More than two decades of hands-on experience in wellhead intervention, well control, snubbing, pressure-control operations, and critical well services. Currently serves as Senior Wellhead Intervention Specialist at 3rd Degree Specialty Tools, LLC, overseeing intervention procedures, safety protocols, and specialized field operations. Former field roles with Boots & Coots and CUDD Well Control, supporting blowout response, snubbing operations, hot tapping, gate-valve drilling, freeze jobs, and live-well intervention worldwide.

Currently serves as COO of 3rd Degree Specialty Tools, LLC, overseeing production, logistics, service delivery, process optimization, equipment readiness, and operational execution. Former roles with Boots & Coots as Intervention and Prevention SME for Saudi Arabia, and field roles with Wood Group, GE Oil & Gas, and Cactus Wellhead.

Currently serves as CEO of 3rd Degree Specialty Tools, LLC, leading strategic direction, operations, business growth, and service delivery. Former roles include Managing Director of Tooling Strategy at Extreme Machining Services, Wellhead Intervention Manager at Eagle Pressure Control, and Well Control Specialist at Stellar Well Control and Boots & Coots.
Steve Wehrenberg

More than 35 years of specialized experience in well control, snubbing, coiled tubing, HPHT operations, emergency blowout response, well integrity, and advanced intervention technologies. Currently serves as Senior Technical Advisor at 3rd Degree Specialty Tools, LLC, providing technical oversight and field advisory support for complex well intervention, sustained casing pressure, live-well operations, pressure-control events, and emergency response readiness. Former senior roles with Halliburton, Boots & Coots, Wild Well Control, and Great White Well Control. Recognized innovator and patent holder, including U.S. Patent No. 10,787,880 B2 for swelling elastomer technology used in rig-less zonal isolation.
