Sam Bowden serves as Managing Partner and Board Advisor to UniServe Wells Management LLC, bringing over 36 years of global oilfield experience in well control, firefighting, critical well operations, engineering support, and technical training.
Sam has helped kill and cap more than 400 onshore and offshore blowouts and fires worldwide, including major operations in Kuwait, the United States, Africa, Canada, India, Indonesia, Oman, Trinidad, Italy, and France. His expertise spans relief well operations, subsea well intervention, BOP capping stack installation, damaged wellhead recovery, complex well kill operations, hot tap and freeze operations, and snubbing support.
His career includes extensive leadership roles in well control and emergency response, providing technical direction during some of the industry's most challenging blowout events. Sam's depth of hands-on experience across diverse operating environments — from desert to offshore to arctic conditions — makes him a uniquely qualified technical authority on the UniServe Advisory Board.
Sam is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE). His guidance strengthens UniServe's technical capability in well control response, critical well operations, and emergency preparedness across all operating regions.
